It is our utmost pleasure to introduce to you a brand new addition to our team – a volunteer with a love of community and bucket list to complete. Pumi responded to our call out for a volunteer to lead a walking group. It was already on her goals list this year to be more active and felt serendipitous to meet her.
What is the Little BIG Walking Group?
It’s a group of like-minded individuals, each with a pair of sturdy shoes and an eagerness to explore the area, setting off on foot to keep active and connected. It’s an invitation to leave the stresses of everyday life behind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the company of fellow walkers. It’s also a set time and place to help keep US ALL accountable.
But it’s not just about the physical benefits of walking; our group offers so much more. As we exercise along the Grennway, we will engage in conversation, share stories, and forge meaningful connections.
How long have you been a local?
For the last 12 years.
Why is this community special to you?
I have been lucky to always be a part of supportive communities, which have provided belonging and ability to offer more and richer daily experiences, this community does that for me as well which is why I love it.
How do you think connection and friendship are created at the Walking Group?
It’s low stakes. We will support each other, keep each other accountable to keeping moving, get to know the local area and different people. It will be fun!
What is the top thing on your bucket list?
I’ve been living out a lot of my bucket list travel destinations around Australia over the last 12-months. But walking regularly has been on my list for number of years!
What are you most grateful for?
Being fortunate for family, friends and to live in Australia.
Besides walking, what else interests you?
I love going to music gigs… but I have no musical abilities! 🙂
What was the last Little BIG Action you received or did for someone?
(a Little BIG Action is a small thing you do someone or someone does for you that has a really big impact).
Conversations with old friends, always wanting the best, speaking with kindness & supporting in their unique ways.
What do you love about the Little BIG House?
That it community led and seeking to create a kinder world, one step at a time.
Pumi is a beacon of smiles, kindness, and energy. We hope you get the pleasure of meeting her on a walk soon!
