Join the 2026–2027 Summer Hill Volunteer Leadership Group

by Little BIG 25 February, 2026 Category: News

Every strong community has people behind the scenes quietly making things happen. In Summer Hill, that’s our Volunteer Leadership Group. From supporting community hosts to get their ideas off the ground, to strengthening local partnerships and helping us tackle loneliness at a grassroots level, the Committee plays a vital role in ensuring our community remains connected, inclusive and vibrant.

As we look ahead to 2026–2027, we’re inviting expressions of interest from locals who want to step into leadership, build their skills and make a meaningful contribution to the community around them.

Participating in the Summer Hill Volunteer Committee is more than volunteering. It’s an opportunity to:

  • Develop leadership and governance experience
  • Build strong professional and local networks
  • Contribute to real social impact
  • Help shape the future of community life in Summer Hill

But is it fun? We think so! Yes, there’s work to do. We take our impact seriously. But we also believe community building should feel like community.

That means meetings where we bring share food, celebrating milestones together, arrange the dd bush-walk and catching up socially between meetings. We want to enjoy each other’s company, along the way.

If you believe that small actions create big impact, and you’d like to be part of the team that makes it happen, we’d love to hear from you.

What is involved?

  • Minimum 14-month commitment, commencing April (and concluding with a handover to a new committee).
  • Monthly meetings which are sometimes in person, and sometimes online.
  • Meeting pre-reading.
  • Specific actions related to each role; learn more below.
