About the Event
The Side Quest Society is a weekly drop-in space at Little BIG House, Flour Mill of Summer Hill, where 12–18 year-olds get a room to just be themselves — no pressure, no phones, no performance. Every Tuesday from 4:30–5:45pm, teens dive into a different activity: improv, teambuilding games, guest speakers, trivia, board and card nights. It’s one of those Inner West events built on a simple idea that confidence isn’t taught, it’s built by trying slightly brave things somewhere safe to get it wrong. Run by educator Kevin Chu, who spent over a decade working with young people as a teacher, mentor and camp facilitator, this is the room he wished he’d had as a teenager himself.
Who Should Attend
Any teen aged 12–18 who wants a genuine sense of belonging, whether they’re naturally social or find big groups tricky. It’s especially good for kids looking to make friends outside their usual school circle, without the weight of old reputations following them into the room. No experience, confidence, or friend group required, just a willingness to show up.
What’s the Cost
Sessions are $25 each, or bundled across 8 weeks for a better rate (reach out to Kevin for details). No ongoing commitment needed; come whenever it suits your family’s weekend or weeknight rhythm.

Kevin Chu has spent 10+ years building programs where young people can find social connection and grow their confidence — one board game, icebreaker and honest conversation at a time.

Little BIG House sits inside the Flour Mill of Summer Hill, Inner West Sydney — a community hub known for shared workspaces, the Flour Mill Markets, and a steady calendar of free events and community programs for locals of all ages.
