The Firepit for Teens
About the Event
This is a small, committed group of young people aged 12-18 to work on the things that matter but rarely get taught such as the 3 kinds of friends we need in life, understanding our relationship with money, how to build healthy habits and how to say ‘no’ without feeling bad.
Every Wednesday from 4:30-5:45, Kevin will facilitate discussions with teens who are on the same journey to nail that new habit, mindset or hear from different perspectives with the vision of growing together.
How it works
Each week brings a different theme, either brought up from the community, the teens themselves or what we feel is important. It costs $320 for an 8 week block
Format:
- 4:25-4:30 Doors open and pre-session mingling
- 4:30-4:35 Quick intro – name, one thing about yourself (e.g. age, fave colour, favourite car) and one thought/opinion about the day’s topic
- 4:35-4:40 Quick wins … however big or small
- 4:40-5:30 Kevin will facilitate the open discussion
- 5:30-5:40 Pick out a task to complete over the next week, relevant to your specific situation + final shares
- 5:40-5:50 Post-session mingling/pickups.
What’s special about this group?
The Firepit is a curated group. Every participant applies, and every participant is there because they’re ready to show up and take that next step. The group is small by intention – so that we start to understand and trust one another as well as build that sense of safety.
About the Host
Kevin Chu has spent over 10 years working with young people as a teacher, mentor, camp facilitator and workshop host. He naturally guides conversations in his daily life that help people better understand themselves. Ready for your teen to take that next step? Applications are open – apply HERE and we’ll be in touch about joining the group.
