Over the past four years, we are proud that we have been able to offer these classes for free thanks to external funding. Unfortunately, that funding is coming to an end, and rather than risk the classes stopping altogether, we’ve made the decision to introduce a small $11 + GST contribution per class commencing Monday 4th May. Classes continue for free for the month of April.
This decision wasn’t made lightly. We wanted to ensure the classes continue into the future, without interruption and to be able to fairly support our teachers and give them (and you) certainty of continuation.
What this means:
- Bookings from May 4th 2026 can be made via a NEW Appointy link: https://booking.appointy.com/LittleBIG
- Your place in the class will be confirmed after payment via creditcard/debitcard
- You’ll be able to reserve your spot up to 60 days in advance
- Bookings are non-refundable, but if you are unable to make it you are welcome to reschedule to another day (with a minimum 12 hours notice) anytime in the month ahead
If you have been struggling to get a place, we believe this will reduce last minute cancelations, no-shows meaning more opportunities for those who really value the class.

FAQ
Why are these classes offered?
These classes have always been about more than fitness or yoga. They’re about connection, routine, and feeling part of something. Connection is the aim, fitness is a happy by-product!
How much are the classes?
$11 + GST.
This contribution helps cover the time of our incredible teachers, coordinating and running the program, insurance and logistics. It’s not about profit, it’s about making sure the classes can continue in a stable, sustainable way.
Why are the classes no longer free?
Until now, these classes have been supported by external funding and sponsorship. That funding has ended. Rather than stopping altogether, we’ve introduced a small fee so we can keep them running consistently into the future. This change is about protecting what we’ve built together.
When does this start?
The first week of Monday 4th May. Classes continue for free for the month of April.
What if I can’t afford the fee?
We understand that even a small cost can be a barrier. Some suggestions you can consider:
- There is no need to attend multiple times a week. You might like to join once or twice a week and supplement your activity with the Free Walking Group or Free Tai-Chi classes
- You might like to get your social fix though the 90+ other events happening at the Little BIG House each month - many of which are free or very low cost
- In cases of verified financial hardship, we will do our best to support you. If this is the case for you, please reach out to us privately
Why not just find another sponsor?
We’re always open to sponsorships, and we’ll continue to explore them. However, relying only on sponsorship has proven unpredictable. This model gives the program more stability and independence, so it’s not at risk every time funding changes.
I could probably exercise more cheaply somewhere else. Why should I keep coming?
Little BIG isn’t trying to compete with large, national gyms. We don’t have their scale, systems, marketing reach or ability to provide their pricing. We’re a small, local community hub, run by volunteers and focused on helping neighbours connect with one another.
Our pricing is set to cover the real costs of running the program over 12 months, including trainer fees, booking platforms and insurance, while also accounting for seasonal fluctuations like lower attendance in winter.
If your primary goal is fitness or yoga alone, you may decide another option is a better fit; and we completely understand. But if being part of a local, connected community matters to you, we’d love for you to stay and participate in a way that works for your budget and your schedule.
Will this make classes easier to get into?
We hope so! When something is free and in high demand, it can lead to long waitlists and no-shows. We are constantly getting the feedback that new people can't get a spot (we have over 300 people on our interested list). A small fee helps to reduce last-minute drop-offs, make bookings more reliable and create a fairer system for everyone. It also means we can explore adding more classes/times over time if there is enough interest.
Will the classes change?
Absolutely not. We are sure you agree that our teachers offer an incredible class and you can expect it to continue as is.
How do bookings and payments work?
We’ll continue using the same online system, Appointy, but via a new link here: https://booking.appointy.com/LittleBIG
You’ll book and pay your class in advance. The payment link is secure and requires a credit/debit card. Once payment is made, your spot is secure.
Both Yoga and Outdoor Fitness are now available on the same link for your convenience.
What if I book and can’t make it?
No worries, you can reschedule to another date at any point up to 12 hours before class. This allows enough time for someone to take your spot and keeps things fair. Late cancellations or no-shows will not be refunded, as your spot could have gone to someone else.
Can I turn up without booking?
Unfortunately not. We must book in advance, as classes may fill up and it allows the teacher to plan the class effectively, to keep to the set numbers and ensure everyone's safety (not to mention the quality of the experience).
Is there a 10-class pack option or a discounted membership?
Not at this stage, but it is something we may consider in the future.
Who made this decision?
This decision was made by the Little BIG with the sole focus to protect the class for the long-term. Please do not direct any feedback to our fabulous teachers. Their job is to plan and deliver an excellent class and we want them to focus on that.
Can I share feedback?
Yes, we welcome both positive and improvement feedback.
Each year we do a social impact survey where you can share your experiences and preferences for the future. Please make sure you are on our mailing list to receive this. If your feedback is timely, please reach out directly via our website contact form.
