About the event

Safe Space is a compassionate, non-clinical drop-in space for anyone feeling low, lonely, distressed, or overwhelmed. Held every Friday from 6–9 pm at the Little BIG House, Summer Hill, this peer-led space offers care, connection, and presence — without pressure, judgement, or the need to have the “right words”.

Designed to support emotional wellbeing and mental health, Summer Hill Safe Space provides a calm and welcoming environment where guests can sit, talk, or simply be. Volunteers with lived experience are there to listen with empathy, offer gentle support, and, if appropriate, assist with safety planning or warm referrals to other services.

Who should attend

This space is for adults who may be experiencing loneliness, mental distress, suicidal thoughts, or simply need human connection. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral — just come as you are. If you’re wondering how to stop being lonelyhow to meet new people, or need a safe place to land, this space is for you.

What’s the cost

Free. This is a community-supported service, ensuring access for anyone who needs it.

About the host
