In a welcoming, supportive environment at the Flour Mill of Summer Hill, you’ll learn to up-cycle, embellish, and reinvent your existing clothes, making fashion sustainable, fun, and full of personal meaning.
This class combines community support, emotional well-being, and creativity in one vibrant experience. It’s more than sewing—it’s about social connections, building relationships, and crafting a stronger, connected community in Inner West Sydney.
You’ll learn:
- How to add patchwork pockets, ruffles, flounces, and pleats
- Decorative stitching techniques
- How to create elastic or drawstring channels
- Fun, simple ways to repurpose and personalise garments
Bring your sewing machine or use one of ours! All fabrics, resources, and tools are provided. Tea and coffee available too!

- Anyone looking to unleash their creativity
- Beginners (a little sewing experience helps, but not necessary!)

Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Carers attend free and can relax in our cozy lounge area.
