About the Event
Creative Reflections is a monthly storytelling workshop that explores identity, values, memories and meaning through writing, collage, art and other creative forms. Each session takes a different creative approach, with activities designed to spark memories and look at familiar stories from new angles. There’s also plenty of time to relax over a cuppa, swap stories and get to know the people around the table. Sessions run on the second Tuesday of each month, 1.30–3.30pm.
Who Should Attend
This series is for people aged 55 and over who are curious about their own stories, or keen to hear other people’s. You don’t need to think of yourself as a writer or an artist, and there’s no pressure to produce polished work. If you’re after relaxed community activities in Inner West Sydney and an easy way of meeting new people, this is a lovely place to start.
What’s the Cost
It’s free. Pens, notebooks, collage materials, art supplies, tea and coffee are all provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own favourite materials. Registration is through Humanitix – https://events.humanitix.com/creative-reflections-lbh
About the Host
Creative Reflections is facilitated by Elaine Cadewyn (Cadence), a Sydney-based author, poet and creative workshop facilitator. Elaine believes that with art, the journey often matters more than the destination, and that’s exactly the spirit of these sessions.
About the Venue
Sessions are held on the ground floor of Little BIG House at the Flour Mill of Summer Hill, 16 Flour Mill Way, Summer Hill. Little BIG House is a community hub focused on reducing loneliness and creating spaces where neighbours can find a real sense of belonging. It hosts a range of free events and community programs across the Inner West.
