About the Event
Make a Friend, and One to Keep! is a joyful felt friend workshop happening at Little BIG House for Loneliness Awareness Week. Grab a seat, pick up some colourful felt, beads, buttons and trims, and spend a relaxed afternoon stitching together your own one-of-a-kind creature — cat, chicken, floppy-eared dog, or something entirely your own invention. There’s no right or wrong way to make your little companion, and that’s kind of the point. Hosted by Sew for Joy, this is community sewing at its warmest: slow down, get your hands busy, and see who you end up chatting to along the way.

Who Should Attend
Absolute beginners are welcome — no sewing experience needed, just curiosity. It’s a lovely one for creative people of all ages looking for things to do this weekend, newcomers to the Inner West wanting to meet people, or anyone who’s been wondering how to make friends as an adult without the awkward small talk. Kids under 15 are welcome too, as long as they’re paired with a participating adult.

What’s the Cost
This one’s completely free, with all materials, guidance and inspiration templates included. Bookings are essential though, so grab your ticket early — and if your plans change, please let the host know so someone else on the waitlist can take your spot.

About the Host
Sew for Joy runs community sewing classes across Sydney, built around craft, colour and the simple pleasure of making something alongside other people.

About the Venue
