When Sydney was in lockdown and neighbours were actively encouraged to stay away from each other for the sake of physical health, Adam was thinking and worrying about the country’s mental health. Staying away from loved ones and avoiding a friendly hello with neighbours felt deeply unnatural. Loneliness, already a challenge across Sydney, was now magnified. For Adam, this wasn’t just a problem to observe—it was a call to action. The Little BIG Foundation became his way of doing something about it, creating connections in a time of isolation.
From the very beginning, Adam poured his heart and vision into creating a place where connection thrives and community blossoms. For Adam, Summer Hill isn’t just a neighbourhood; it’s a living example of how to build a “highly connected village” where ideas about reducing loneliness and fostering kindness come to life.
What inspires Adam most are the volunteers—the driving force behind everything Little BIG stands for. He’s passionate about finding these incredible people, empowering them, and watching them shine. To him, they’re the heartbeat of the Foundation, and their acts of generosity and kindness constantly remind him why this work matters.
Adam’s goals for the Foundation are ambitious. He dreams of a world where loneliness is reduced by 50% and the Little BIG Foundation becomes a global leader in community activation. But it’s not just the big milestones that fuel his passion—it’s the little moments, like witnessing acts of kindness that ripple through the community, leaving an impact far beyond what anyone could have imagined.
His vision for the Foundation stems from a philosophy he calls “Building in Good” (B.I.G.). For Adam, it’s not about ticking boxes—it’s about embedding goodness into the very fabric of what we do. This philosophy extends into his personal life, where his faith, curiosity, and a deep commitment to helping others guide his actions.
Adam embraces life outside of work (Little BIG Foundation, EG Funds, and many other organisations he’s involved with). Whether it’s a game of tennis, a swim, or diving into the worlds of philosophy and theology, he finds joy and balance in his pursuits. He’s a firm believer in the “flywheel effect,” switching between work, leisure, family, and volunteering to keep his energy flowing.
Among his many memorable experiences with Little BIG, Adam treasures the dinner shared with volunteers. For him, it was a chance to connect with the people behind the Foundation’s success—a reminder that it’s not just about what we build but the bonds we create along the way.
Adam’s journey is driven by a simple but profound question he hopes to answer one day: “What did you do to help others?” With that guiding light, he continues to lead the Little BIG Foundation with gratitude, purpose, and an unwavering belief in the power of community.
